Adding a fringe to any cut can make a plain style modern, sophisticated or edgy. From eye-skimming fringes to exude sensual mystery or wispy Boho bangs, you can add a fringe to any style at any time of the year, slightly more maintenance in required but believe us…it’s worth it.
Beachy Brunette or Blonde
Who doesn’t want to embrace there inner hippy? A must have colour to experience in your life is the beachy brunette or blonde. Depending on your skin tone it varies what tones you would embrace for this look but to active a sun kissed effect multiple tones are foiled into the hair usually placing more lighter tones to frame the face…achieving a natural look. Abbie director colourist at Tsiknaris Hair explains “with more than one tone being used in the hair regrowth is seamless…and also adds to the beachy affect.”
A staple in the hairdressing, there are many types of bobs, blunt, classic, choppy, a-symmetric, concaved …the list is endless. With such a variety of bob’s there is a bob to suit any type of face shape, style and age. Dimitri Tsiknaris advises “asking your hairdresser which bob would suit you will be the best way to approach changing your current style to a bob, and then we can direct you toward your ultimate bob style.”
An undercut can be a liberating transformation. It can be incorporated into many different cuts but the main thing to remember is that it will be removing a lot of hair with clippers, so people with fine hair would not suit an undercut. Bill Tsiknaris explains how an undercut can suit clients with thick hair “by removing hair with an undercut bulky hair suddenly becomes lighter and more manageable, and when you put your hair up it brings an element of surprise turning a basic layered cut into an edgy look.”
The Red Head
From wintery coppers to fiery reds there is a wide range of coppers and reds to embrace when giving the ‘red head’ look a go. It all comes back down to what tone of red or copper would suit your skin type. Ask your colourist for their opinion. Holding up colour swatches against your face can also give you a good indication of whether or not a cherry red or strawberry blonde would suit your skin tone. Ask your colourist also for at home hair care to maintain your bright locks. Coppers and reds are fashion colours bright and punchy, but this can also mean they fade fast leaving your colour brassy and dull. Chris Tsiknaris lets you into a little secret on how to maintain glossy bright locks “there are many take home copper or red pigmented shampoos and treatments to be able to insure that your hair will look as bright as it was the day you left the salon.”
This is not a hairstyle for everyone, but on the right person it can be life changing! The pixie cut is made for those with bold personalities because there’s no hair to hide behind. There is a sense of freedom and empowerment of having your hair short and styling it very quickly. Cutting your hair short means more attention will be directed to the face. This is why confidence in owning the look is key in pulling it off. Take note of your face shape, an immediate indicator of how short you should go. Pixie cuts tend to look best on oval, square, and heart-shaped faces. Women with heart-shaped faces can pull off shorter pixie cuts as it brings attention to the eyes and away from the long jaw line. Additionally, heart-shaped faces tend to have wide foreheads. Adding some side-swept bangs will help narrow it. If you have a round face, we suggest opting for a longer style with some height on top to elongate the face, providing slimming results. Square-faced ladies should ask for soft layers to make the features appear less harsh.

Having a pop of pink in blonde hair, purple in dark brown hair or even teal through deep blonde hair to bring dull hair to life. Embracing bright colours is made simple and easy with a range of products readily available. Simply ask for a bright toner after your colour service or even investing in a take home colour treatment ( we recommended evo fabuloso pro) to be able to give yourself pastel pink hair whenever in the mood. Jade who is a colourist at Tsiknaris hair explains the benefits to rainbow hair “the plus to these bright colours is they fade out the hair fast so you can be forever changing your colour.”

Extensions have evolved immensely over the last 10years. Gone are the tight micro bonds that seem to forever be falling out and look atrocious in the hair, the hairdressing world has now been taken over by tape extensions. They are seamless, take less time to put in the hair and easy to maintain. If you are looking for a more temporary extensions clip-ins give you instant long locks and take no time to put in.
